Album Description 2009 debut album from highly-acclaimed Australian rockers Temper Trap features very polished production, which gives the album a very big sound that compliments the band's pop sensibilities. Recorded on opposite sides of the world in Melbourne and London, Conditions was received very well by Australian critics upon its original release, and songs from the record have featured in numerous television programs. Precededby the single 'Science Of Fear'.

Sweet, Sweet Disposition October 29, 2009 The Headphone Transmissions (USA) 24 out of 24 found this review helpful
Conditions is something that the indie music lover dreams to discover- A creative record handmade by a humble band from Australia with incredibly talented members and unbelievable songwriting abilities. Great singles like "Sweet Disposition," "Fader," and "Love Lost" are obvious places to start; but even beyond these, The Temper Trap packs a punch. The haunting "Soldier On" could easily be one of the best alternative tracks this decade, and the energetic "Science of Fear" is an instantly catchy and contagiously original anthem for the ages.
This fantastic band lives up to every expectation that can be drawn from "Sweet Disposition." Don't even begin to hesitate purchasing this record- Your money will be unquestionably well-spent.
I absolutely love this album November 24, 2009 D. Seward (Ashland, MA - USA) 16 out of 19 found this review helpful
I managed to see these guys at Great Scott in Boston, MA - a divey little bar with maybe 100 other lucky patrons. This band is the real deal. They are tight, well-rehearsed, and were a blast to see.
Their songs are upbeat, catchy, poppy, and fun, with the exception of Soldier On, I suppose. That song feels like something swept out from under David Bowie's dresser... not my favorite part of the album, as the vocals approach caterwaul range... but even with one miss, the album's batting .900. And it's not even that Soldier On is BAD. It's really creative and interesting, it just kinda doesn't jive with the rest of the options. Dougy, the singer, is exceptionally talented. Sometimes the artsy guys just have to get a little weird, I guess.
Temper Trap is at their best when they're energetic, and thankfully most of the album fits that bill.

What A Great Album! February 25, 2010 C. B. Harris (Planet Earth) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This album is outstanding. I caught the song Sweet Disposition on 500 Hundred Days of Summer movie and had to find the cd. The album is amazing and Temper Trap did a hell of a job on it. Conditions offer very catchy songs to mellow ones. Stand out tracks are, Sweet Disposition, Fader, Down River, Ressurection, and Science of Fear. Buy it!
A Sweet Album March 7, 2010 J. Cajigas 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this album before it was available as an mp3 download on Amazon, when it was classified as an import, and I had to order the physical disc. I'm glad I did, because I've spent the past few months enjoying it! The tracks on this album I would rate the highest are Science of Fear, Soldier On and Sweet Disposition, though others are starting to grow on me as well. Like many Americans, I was first exposed to the Australian group through "Sweet Disposition," which appeared on the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack. My husband and I saw the movie together, and both of us remarked about Sweet Disposition specifically as we left the theatre. We hurried home and downloaded the soundtrack, which included great tracks by several artists. A few weeks later I downloaded The Temper Trap's first single from the Album, the Science of Fear - and I've been falling for them ever since! Be sure to visit the band's lyrics page for Science of Fear to learn about the sound sampling used on that track. I won't ruin it for you, but now that I know what the sampled sound is, the meaning and emotion of that song is forever changed for me. I recommend this album very highly! Happy listening!
