Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
2009 release from the Canadian R&B singer/songwriter. Melanie's music is an eclectic yet glossy mix of tributes to the past and contemporary R&B. Even before she released an album, she impressed Kanye West enough to be invited to be the opening act during Kanye's 2008 European tour! Universal.

I love the hell out of this cd. Melanie has a voice out of this world and the songs were not the typical everyday songs that you hear on the radio.. It's nice to see real talent sing real songs.
This cd makes you nod your head and pat the steering wheel. Great cd!!!!!! The people who may not like are the ones who only get into "ass dropping on the dancefloor" music, or may think "Pop dat Coochie" was robbed of a Grammy. LOL.
Get real! This is real talent at its finest. "Learn it, love it, live it!"

It is a strong and beautiful album. I bought 2 copies, one for me and one for my mother. Great music.

Wow! This CD has stuck in my player for so long and I knew from the very first listening that it was going to be one of my all time favourites.
From the first to the last track everything is on it's right place. More enjoyable than Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" or any Alicia Keys' cd, this one is definetely a solid album, full of energy and pure feeling! Melanie's voice is strong and passionate! This girl's got it and deserves to be on top.
In conclusion, this album is top quality and I'm lucky that I haven't missed that. She has just made me longing for more!

5 out of 5 stars The wait is over-----here's Melanie Fiona!!   November 20, 2009

It's very rare to at least like an entire CD these days, let alone love it, but Melanie has made a short list of artists that have managed to do just that for me. Although I do love the entire set, early stand-outs (for me) are Give It To Me Right, Ay Yo, Monday Morning, You Stop My Heart and It Kills Me. Let's talk about It Kills Me, 'cause this song is killin' me softly----I just can't stop listening to it!! Saw the premier of the video for it on YouTube a month ago and have been hooked on it ever since. Can't get enough of it----it's both dramatic in it's delivery and haunting with that sad melody that makes me "get it" as well as love it.

I'm also loving how Melanie and her collaborators are trying something new by using Motown-esque samples and beats. I think we're seeing a new direction in/with R&B/soul music that's quite welcoming, if I say so myself.
